Douglas C. Vandelay

Though I have been a digital artist since the age of 15,  I started with a bachelor of broadcast journalism and set design at Curtin University in 2008 before switching to Architecture in my final year. I completed my undergraduate architecture degree at the University of Western Australia in 2014 while being self employed as an architectural visualizer. From my home town of Perth, I ran an art and design collective dubbed Concept Cartel until moving to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in July of 2017.

My five years of swimming upstream as a self employed designer have taught me two things: making money from doing what you love is harder, yet more rewarding than anything else you can do, and that greater goals can be achieved by a machine of multiple parts than a single wheel turning.
